There are lots of audio formats nowadays. They all have their advantages and drawbacks, and you sometimes need to convert your files between them. One of the main reasons for converting files is to ensure compatibility with specific devices and applications. Auvisoft Audio Converter is designed to help you convert audio files from one format to another.
The program has an intuitive interface. As it supports batch conversion, it allows you to create various conversion jobs. However, it does not let you import whole folders, so you have to add files for conversion one by one. Unfortunately, the contents of the files you add cannot be previewed.
You can select one the various output formats for the whole job. As a second step, you can pick one of the presets, some of which are customizable. Unluckily, you cannot use individual conversion profiles for separate files, so you'll have to convert files for different devices as separate jobs.
You can set several additional options in regard to output: for instance, you can normalize your files; also, you can tell the program to erase the original files after conversion. Moreover, you can configure thread priority to speed up the conversion process or otherwise minimize its impact on the already running applications. Finally, you can tell the program what to do when conversion is over.
One last piece of advice: remember that setting the output quality to a higher level does not mean that the resulting files will sound better; you're limited to the quality of the source.
